Suzuki Recognized as Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Four-Stroke Outboards in a Tie by J.D. Power and Associates

February 17, 2005

February 17, 2005 (MIAMI, FL) - Suzuki Marine's four-stroke outboard engines were honored today at the Miami international Boat Show by J.D. Power and Associates. In an afternoon presentation of its 2005 Marine Engines Competitive Information Study, Suzuki's EFI four-stroke engines were ranked the highest in customer satisfaction with four-stroke outboards in a tie.

"We are very honored with this recognition because it comes directly from consumers," said Larry Vandiver, marketing director for Suzuki Marine. "Our complete line of technologically advanced four-stroke outboard motors, including our two newest engines (the DF175 and DF150), are designed and engineered for the ultimate in performance - and the ultimate in customer satisfaction."

Suzuki's highest customer satisfaction ranking derived from the J.D. Power and Associates' survey of 12,530 boat owners, for the 2003-2004 model year. Referred to as "The Voice of the Customer," J.D. Power and Associates seeks to understand consumers' opinions and expectations regarding the products and services they purchase, and gives rankings as a result of quality and customer satisfaction research.

As one of the first manufacturers to deliver all four-stroke performance for boating enthusiasts, Suzuki Marine outboard motors have long been recognized for their advanced technology, top performance and high customer satisfaction. Most recently, Suzuki's top-of-its-class DF250 V-6 four-stroke outboard motor garnered the NMMA Innovation Award by a distinguished panel of Boat Writers International judges, during the Miami International Boat Show in 2003.

At this year's Miami International Boat Show, Suzuki Marine unveiled two new powerful and compact four-stroke outboard motors, the 150-horsepower (DF150) and 175 horsepower (DF175), slated for introduction later this year as 2006 models. The new DF150 and DF 175 are the most powerful four-cylinder outboards ever built by Suzuki Motor Corporation.
