NEW SUZUKI 300-HORSEPOWER 4-STROKE OUTBOARD WINS SUZUKI’S SEVENTH NMMA INNOVATION AWARD

Suzuki’s Ground-Breaking Counter Rotation System One Of Several Innovations To Suzuki’s Flagship 4-Stroke Outboard Motor

(February 16, 2012, Miami, FL) – This morning, Suzuki received the 2012 Innovation Award for their new DF300AP 4-stroke outboard motor. The award, presented by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and Boating Writers International, recognizes design innovation, consumer and industry benefit, value – and availability to consumers within the next 60 days. This award is the seventh Innovation Award Suzuki has received over the past several years.

The new Suzuki DF300AP incorporates several new features with tremendous consumer benefit. Most notable is Suzuki Selective Rotation. By strengthening the lower unit forward and reverse gearing, Suzuki engineers have designed a lower unit for the DF300AP that will run in either right or left turning rotation. For the first time, standard or counter rotation will be set when initializing the engine’s electronic shift control. Dealers and builders will no longer have to order or stock separate models, customers will no longer have to wait should a counter-rotation model be out of stock, and used motors
can be sold as is or re-programmed to match the buyer’s needs.

In addition, the new DF300AP is the first Suzuki V6 outboard motor to feature its Lean Burn Control System for improved fuel economy, a new more hydrodynamic lower unit with two-stage water intake system, as well as Suzuki’s Trolling Mode
Control System. “We are extremely proud to have the work of our engineering staff recognized in this way,” said Takashi Futamura, director of marine sales for American Suzuki Motor Corporation. “Our goal is always to provide the very best,
most innovative and most reliable products, like this new DF300AP outboard, so people can have more fun on the water.”
